Rovers supporter information for the Derby

Details for security and traveller safety have been released ahead of the derby match between Burnley and vastly superior local rivals Blackburn next week.

Turnstiles at Turf Moor will open for Blackburn Rovers fans at 9.30am and for Burnley supporters at 10.30am in what has to be the earliest turnstile opening in history.

Due to the official club policy that is in place and one that replicates the same OTT treatment Burnley fans got in October the official line is this -

'Blackburn Rovers supporters will be transported to the ground in coaches and all visiting fans will be taken to a point directly adjacent to the turnstiles, and from there immediately into the stadium. Police cordons will be in place to ensure fans` safety.

We strongly advise all supporters to arrive at Turf Moor early for this fixture, and remind supporters of the clocks being moved forward one hour during Saturday night.

Please note there will be no cash turnstiles available on the day.'

Refreshment kiosks inside the ground will all be open upon the opening of the turnstiles in relevant areas - basically meaning that Rovers fans can get drunk as of 9.30 am!

After the game, an area of Harry Potts Way and Belvedere Road has been secured to park all coaches for Blackburn Rovers fans.

So basically it means that to avoid any trouble the clubs have agreed to treat fans like sheep!!!

Am I right in thinking that kick off is at 1.30???? I spose it's only what happened to them when they came to Ewood. It's good they are think of the safety of the Rovers fans, as a resident of the darkside, if you don't have regular injections and health checks you could be in serious trouble, visitors in the past who haven't taken correct precautions have died almost instantly, so keeping the locals away is only a good thing!!

kick off is earlier than that I think..

It's the way of the World now though isn't it Mr Mikey, in a World full of PCness etc. things are often done by the book when there is a hint of anything untowards going on, or could go on.

i guess it is all about speculation boss... but sometimes a bit of common sense could prevail!!

When do they tell people in Phase 2 if they've got a ticket? Has it already happened? I hope not as still waiting here....
Uncle Jack's Nephew
and I thought footy violence was a thing of the past!
merlin
This is Burnley we're talking about Merlin. It IS the past. Seriously there is just no need for this stupidity. The knuckle draggers from both sets of supporters will have their fight one way or another all this does is villify ordinary fans.
Uncle Jack's Nephew
I think we find out tomorrow as far as I know and then tickets go on general sale as far as I know!!

lol love ther banter... but if the aim is to stop violence, wouldn't the genius authorities want the drinking to start later than 9.30am?
