Redknapp backs Big Sam

Redknapp backs Big Sam

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has lent his support to friend Sam Allardyce and has refused to criticise Rovers boss Sam Allardyce in the same way as Rafa 'Hypocrite' Benitez.

Allardyce's Blackburn boys are at Spurs tomorrow and in good spirits after a strong showing at Anfield last time out, even if their play and approach was mocked by the Spanish Waiter.

Redknapp has decided against wading into the debate too aggressively and has backed Big Sam and the way he goes about his business.

Redknapp, speaking to Sky Sports said - 'Everyone plays how they play, they have their own style, I have the way I want to play, Blackburn have their way of playing.

'Whatever Sam does, he has been one of the most successful managers, doing what he's done with what he's had.

'In the last 10 years he's done fantastically and nearly got the England manager's job - he was in the final interviews for that.

'I wouldn't criticise anything Sam does because he is a fantastic manager.'

Kind words indeed, but then you would expect that from a mate. But I believe that Redknapp's appraisal of Big Sam is much more accurate than that of Benitez... even if he is going a little over the top with the praise!!!

Spurs fan, I am sick and tired of managers having a dig at playing styles. You've got Benitez criticising Allardyce.....why? For a start, and just for a start, Liverpool have played shocking football this season which has been as entertaining as watching already dry paint get even drier. Whenever they have won they've scraped it and like against you guys, they've been incredibly lucky to get a point never mind 3. You get Wenger criticising Stoke and Villa, what do these managers know? Unless you're blessed with the amount of decent players Arsenal have, you need to find a winning formula, whether it's on the deck or in the air. It's all about playing to your strengths. If you want to play attractive football but go down as a result then fair enough, West Brom did exactly that and it was a shame they went tumbling out of the league. You guys play fairly decent stuff sometimes (you've entertained me more than fecking Liverpool this season), but you play in a way that will first and foremost see you cement a place in the Premier League. I'd love Rafa to tell me what is so wrong with that?!?! Good luck after Saturday boys and girls!

he is only sticking up for him, cause he wants to stick it in him on Saturday.... bad joke...sorry. He is right dough, every team plays what the game asks from it. That's why you have different tactics... Stupid Rafa..

i have to disagree, arry aint exactly backing big sam is he? he is however showing respect for a manager that has done a reasonable job over the last 10 years, i also don't like benitez but your headline is totally wrong, the comedy value when rafa loses his rag is priceless and makes me laugh everytime but then why would he argue with the small fry? pointless if u ask me.
