Reid Out To Make The Most Of Loan Move

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid is out to make the most of his loan with West Bromwich Albion.

Reid joined the Championship side on loan for an initial month at the end of the week and the 29-year-old is very much looking forward to this loan opportunity as he looks to regain his best form after a nightmare time with injuries in the last few years. Sam Allardyce has told Reid that he still has a part to play at Ewood Park and if he does well at the Hawthorns this will help those chances.

Reid told the Official West Bromwich Albion Website: "It's been a busy couple of days. When I found out I was going out on loan this was one of the clubs I would like to have joined.

"The manager at Blackburn has said there is still a part for me to play there, but now I'm fully focused on doing the job at West Brom and it's an exciting time for me and the club.
"

As the midfielders contract with Rovers ends this summer this is a move that he has to make the most of as a future is being played for (with Rovers, West Brom or somewhere else) so Reid is looking to prove himself.

He added: "My contract is up in June, so this isn't just a chill out. This is a big move for me.

"I've got a lot to prove to a lot of people, and to myself, that I can get back to my best. I've got no doubt I can do that.
"

The Republic of Ireland International is initially on loan for a month with West Brom, however, Reidy isn't ruling out staying with the Baggies for longer and perhaps even on a permanent basis?

Reid also said: "I just want to rediscover my best form and there's no reason, if I can have a good month here, why it couldn't be extended even longer.

"And, with my contract up in June, who knows? It's a big opportunity this month, starting today."

Personally I wish Reidy (who made his debut on Saturday in their defeat against Queen Park Rangers) the best of luck and hope that he can get an extended run in the side and show his best form, however, I don't think that he'll get a new contract with Rovers so I feel that he's playing more for a future with another club??

Good luck Reidy, I'd really like to see you back to your best and stay with Rovers, however, personally I'm not sure we'll see this.

he's running out of time isn't he? I like him but he is going to have to have a stomer to earn a new deal...

We have 2 choices in the summer. Either we get rid of Reidy with the squad size limitations or we keep him on as one of the homegrown quota. Personally unless like Mikey says, he has a blinder at WBA I think he will be let go and replaced with youth

Personally (as I've said) I like Reidy but he's not going to get a new contract with us is he??
