Reidy off to WBA for a Month

West Bromwich Albion have swooped to sign Rovers hospital patient Steven Reid on a one month loan deal.

The International, who is now 28, will go straight into the Baggies squad for tomorrow.

Reidy has been plagued by injuries for the last few seasons so this loan move could determine where he plies his trade next season as he is out of contract in the summer.

Roberto Di Matteo, Baggies boss and eyebrow master, spoke to the WBA website - 'We have been looking to strengthen our squad for the final push and Steven certainly fits the bill.'

'He's a versatile player with loads of experience.

'We've had some great references about Steven so hopefully he'll perform at the level we expect him to.'

GRR! give him a chance in the first team and he will shine! why are we loaning him out.. send out Andrews instead! ill even pay for his taxi to the airport!

Save your money, loan Andrews to Blackpool and just give him a backey on your push bike... I guess this is for fitness reasons maybe?

ive always rated reid but if he cant get in the team hes better off away from the club to get himself going again...good luck to him.

i guess with the emergence of gamst as a central midfielder, and olsson and hoillet taking over on the flanks, we just dont have room for reidy (possibly an indication grella and dunn are ready to go)....a loan spell at least gives him a months of action. Id rather that then he sits on the bench..... As for Andrews...i think he will be stayin at the club, mainly due to the player quota rule

Good luck Reidy, however, I'm not sure your future will lie with us?
