Rovers Internationals Round Up

The usual batch of International friendlies are underway this midweek and no doubt we will be hearing how they are a waste of time by 'insert Premier League managers name here' but last night saw some interesting developments.

The main news is that Keith Andrews was involved in a friendly match against the much hyped Brazil. Our Keith even got on the score sheet... but at the the wrong end.

Brazil won 2-0 in the end and to be fair, bar the own goal, Keith was actually pretty good marking Kaka and a few other Samba boys.

Steven N'Zonzi's France Under 21's beat Niko Kalinic's Crotian equivalent 3-1 in a cracking match.

Niko played the first 45 minutes and N'Zonzi only got 7 minutes at the end so their paths didn't cross which is a shame but never mind.

Johnny Flynn was in the always luxury destination of San Marino as they beat the Marinans 3-0 in the Under 21s.

And Martin 'I'm actually good now' Olsson was impressive as the Swedish youngsters saw off a strong Portugal side 2-0.

So not a bad night on the whole bar an Andrews mistake.

Such a different run out of Int'l appearances compared to two years ago when this article would have talked about Nelson, Emo, MGP, Khish, RSC, Ooijer and Benni, Warnock and Bentley snubs.
SoCal Rover
Aye, Australia did play, but Manager Pim Ver Beek decided to field a bunch of locals in our Asian Cup qualifier. I doubt Sam would of released Vince or Grella anyways! lol
sasman
