Bad But Could've Been Worse!!

Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen has found out the full extend of his knee injury, which he picked up in the 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.

Nelsen has torn a muscle behind his knee as well as suffering extensive none bruising after being injured in the win at Ewood Park. However, his absence isn't going to be for as long as first feared as the 32-year-old is likely to only miss four to six-weeks worth of football.

Nelsen told Radio Sport: "It's probably the best result I could have got.

"In the great scheme of things it's not too bad. It certainly could have been worse.
"

The Rovers captain will be back before the end of the season and as far as his own World Cup chances go with New Zealand the Kiwi International captain shouldn't have that much to worry about with this either so it's not bad news for everyone concerned really is it, definitely much better than feared!!

Very good news that it wasnt too bad. I think this is reasonable considering the type of injury he sustained. Samba and Givet at the back it is then....

Considering we are practically safe from relegation now - I was gutted to think that Ryan would miss the world cup - I'm glad to hear that he'll still be going.
