Big Sam: Fantastic Day And Important Three Points

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce discusses his thoughts on our win over Bolton Wanderers on Sunday with Sky Sports.

Allardyce was delighted with the 3-0 win at Ewood Park (our fourth straight win at Ewood) and believes that this (along with the recent home form) has sent out a message to everyone else coming to Ewood.

Allardyce told Sky Sports: "It was a fantastic day for us and a very important three points.

"It's our biggest win of the season and four wins on the trot at Ewood Park. We're making everyone sit up and think what a game they're going to get here - and they certainly are.
"

Bolton did cause us problems. However, it was the weather that also troubled us!! However, once we weathered (both) after firstly having efforts of our own saved we then went on to kill off the match.

He added: "It was a difficult game. One; because of the weather, and two; it's a local derby.

"But we deserved a 1-0 lead in the first half. We then sat back on that a little too much and Bolton had their best spell and threatened that they might get something.

"But when the best chance of the game for them came we've got Paul Robinson, who made a match-winning save.

"Then we got the biggest snowflakes you've ever seen in your life - I was struggling to see the ball and the players almost, they were that big!

"Once we'd weathered that storm we had Junior Hoilett, with a diving header that Jussi (Jaaskelainen) saved, and Steven N'Zonzi with the header, and I was wondering if and when the second goal was going to come.

"But when we got that it knocked the stuffing out of Bolton and we just opened them up if and when we saw fit. The third goal went in and it could have been four in the end, perhaps five.
"

Our biggest win of the season and our continued superb home form of late has helped us move further away from the relegation battle (and leave Bolton in it) the only drawback was the injury to Ryan Nelsen. However, we're now starting to look like we're in a position of safety so Big Sam now has to push up as high up the Premier League table as he can to increase his Summer transfer kitty.

So good to see. Were in a run of good form and the best thing- Kalinic finished beautifully. Its been a great start to life without Benni Mac

He is fast becoming a faded memory is Benni. Thing is though is that Sam is right - we dont need to replace him directly... just everyone needs to chip in with an extra goal. Great stuff.
