Dunny backs Niko to fire in the goals

Rovers midfield maestro David Dunn has given his full support and backed £6 million hit man Nikola Kalinic to bag the goals that Rovers need.

Kalinic had a slow start to life at Ewood Park but has been a revelation recently and even bagged his first league goal in the 2-1 win against Wigan.

Dunn believes that Nikola can continue said form and is looking forward to him being the main man for Rovers in the future.

Dunny speaking to Lancashire Telegraph said - "It was great to see Niko score his first league goal the other day. He has been on fire in the cups and as soon as he came to the club I was confident he would be worth the money.

"I used to say to everyone 'he will come good in a couple of months` and I am glad that has come true. I just hope it can carry on and I am sure it can.

"He is only a young lad and sometimes you need to give them a little time to settle in off the pitch before throwing them in. Niko was given time and, while some people were questioning him, we all knew he had talent and would come good.

"You see his confidence has been growing and, with help and support, that will continue and I am sure he will get better and better."

Happy days all around then.

Good to see some backing for a man now who can be the premier Rovers striker for years to come
Mikey Delap
I hope hes ready, as I think Big Sam is throwing him straight in the mix by selling Mccarthy. Hopefully after his first goal he will have gained enough confidence to tuck away the chances we create for him as well as the ones he creates for himself.

Hopefully can start to see some of those trademark 30yard finishers that are on you tube, he should have some confidence in him so come on Niko, you can do eeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

premier rovers striker for years to come? Hate to say it, but if he comes good, he won't stay long at little ol' rovers.
Desert Kiwi
Have to agree with Kiwi on his comment but you never know. Hopefully he will help us this season and give us a strong performance next season then if the price is high enough im sure he will move on. Tis the way of things at rovers these days. Could be worse though we could be dingles.

I hate to agree with Kiwi but if he is a big success we all expect - he should be good for £20m + toward the fighting fund! In the meantime enjoy!
YORK ROVER
I'm another that agrees with you Kiwi, however, that is the price we pay.
