Benni completes West Ham move

Benni McCarthy has today left Blackburn Rovers and formally completed his move to West Ham for a fee believed to be £2.25 million.

Benni has been waiting for a work permit and has today been given what he needs to move to London.

It was only a matter of time but regardless of the ins and outs of the Benni/Sam Allardyce situation I would personally like to thank McCarthy for some great memories and some great goals during his time here.

Thank you Benni.

for all the trouble he can cause back in the day he was agreat player for us... I believe we got most of his best years at this football club.

Remains to be seen, I think West Ham will be rubbing their hands together. Im really sad he has left

I agree 100% with you Mikey, even at his unfittest you got yourself an added dimensional super sub who could change a game, just a shame he was such a tempremental ass on occasions. Oh well i wish him all the best and hope zola can get some work out of him.

gutted hes gone. Im at a loss to explain where our goals will come from. Kalinic will get some, but cannot beat two CBs on his own.

& where's his replacement???? I see that we attempted to get Dindane and that failed - not that I am bothered, he is rubbish!! Sam said all along that he would not let Benni go until we got a replacement - well, where is he??
Wellsy10
Apparently the replacement is Rigters, He was expected to join KIlmarnock on loan, but cos we aint signed anyone, we have pulled the plug
glen9mullan
Rigters as a replacement for Benni??? - Future's bright then!!
Wellsy
Well if we are gonna play this 4-3-2-1 all the time then it looks like we just need the 3 strikers then! Oh and Dunny to stay fit. I am a bit annoyed we aint signed anyone!

oi!!!! i had dibs on this story!!! grrrrrr

too slow my man!!! your welcome to write something better though!!! :)
Mikey Delap
i was fast asleep!!! lol i will dont worry :D

No replacement for McCarthy, that's a daring move. Sam better pray hard that Dunn stays fit and injury free, and Kalinic starts scoring more in the league. We are not safe yet.

Good luck Benni - thanks for the goals!

I am not as annoyed as I was yesterday now... I can understand it in a way. The formation Sam is using at the moment, with two quicker players off one big man is the old one he used to play at Bolton... it is working for us. We are in 10th, picking up points and heading in the right direction.
