Rovers talk to Basturk

Rovers have started to negotiate with Stuttgart midfielder Yildiray Basturk about a move to Ewood Park, possibly in response to Benni McCarthy's imminent move.

Basturk has found himself out of favour at Stuttgart but is still viewed as a real talent and one that Big Sam feels he can restore to full glory.

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is keen to add goals to the side and views Basturk as an exciting deal - if ti can be pulled off.

Basturk's representatives are reported by Sky Sports to have flown into England to discuss an intial short term deal.

vangogo
He's 31 I think.
SyekotikRover
let me guess......can kick a ball 60 yards, and can head the ball? Perfect type of Sam ALlardyce player....give him 45k a week whilst your at it
sasman
Not sure about now but he used to be quite the opposite of the style of play you describe sas. Although I have a feeling we could have been linked with Messi and you'd have said the same thing at this moment in time ! Only pullin ya chain mate... but seriously he was quite the stylish little player
fransavarese
ahahahaha il give you credit there my dear friend! great call!
sasman
I agree with frans, he is more of a Dunn style of player

Cynical Sas! Cynical! ha ha! If he can be made to be the players he used to be then all will be well with this signing!

Hello Sam? Anyone there? WE NEED A STRIKER!! Whilst I am delighted that we have been linked with a player who has undoubted quality (hopefully he is still as good as he was!!), we really need a striker who can put the ball in the onion bag, to help us escape the relegation dogfight.
Wellsy10
good player, but im sure we dont need any more midfielders, we need Benni!

Batsurk was a top player 7 or 8 yrs ago i think 100 games in 6 years tells its own story, He is well past his sell by date and another in the mortion of vieri and salgado, We are trying to build a real football team not a team of veternas no-one else wants. More wages getting gobbled up by joke signings,
