Rovers deny Dunn contract refusal

Rovers are very confident that a new deal to stay at Ewood Park will be agreed with David Dunn.

There was some talk that Dunny had turned down a pay-as-you-play deal but those seem wide of the mark as Rovers have flat out denied that.

Talks over a fresh deal have been in place for quite a while but it is widely acknowledged that Dunny's first preference by far is to remain with his hometown club.

John Williams gave a brief statement to the Lancashire Telegraph - "It has all been very positive,"

"Both parties want the deal to happen and negotiations are still ongoing."

So woohooo! Good news, well sort of. Look I will take anything I can get at the moment!

Nice one... i'd almost forgotten what good news felt like!!
spinaker
sign him up! Everyone has seen how we have played without him this season so get it sorted so he can relax and play at his best

Normal negotiations - Dunn is a Rovers supporter but you can't blame him for trying to get the best deal. I expect this will get sorted.

A new contract for Dunn should be simple. Offer him the same he's getting paid now as a base and then bonuses for games played. We retain his services and we're safeguarded against his lingering fitness issues.

I don't think I'll get to carried away until it is signed, however, you'd think that it should be done?? There is no reason why a new contract shouldn't be agreed really but Dunny isn't going to be taken for a fool is he, he knows this could well be his final pay-out so will want to look after himself as well.
Walker
It's all fair that Dunn wants the best deal and he deserves to be rewarded for his showings so far... but he can put himself in an even better position by, oh I dont know... firing us to Wembley!
Mikey Delap
Our trouble is Dunn got off to a good start and he took the team with him at the start of the season. Now we look a shadow of the side that started the campaign - if we don't retain Dunn can we get in/ attract or even afford a good enough replacement?

Sign him up for heaven's sake!

y in gods name would we be even rumoured to offer him a pay as u play deal.God forbid if we did it would be an insult to our best player this season

We need Dunn, if we lose Dunn, we may as well just start going to palace, blackpool and preston right now.
