Lets keep Benni says Salgado

Michel Salgado has insisted that it is imperative to keep hold of problematic but very gifted striker Benni McCarthy.

Having spent ten years at Real Madrid, you would like to think that Michel knows a thing or two about good players and he seems to think we have one in Benni.

Salgado, speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph said - "Benni is a top quality player, especially when David Dunn is injured. If Benni wasn`t with us it would be a big loss for us.

"He's a man who can keep the ball. He's a key player - everyone needs them in their team and he is one. We need him to stay here in January. We are a team that has more than we are showing at present and Benni can help us do that.

"'But I can see he has top quality. He gives teams something different and he has great quality. When you see him play or train, you know you are watching a key player. We have to help him play as well as he can, get his confidence back and play regularly for Blackburn. That's what we need."

Kind words indeed, but what does Benni think now he is playing more?
