Van Heerden On Trial With Sheffield United??

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Elrio van Heerden in understood to be on the verge of joining Sheffield United on trial.

Van Heerden has struggled to make any impact at Ewood Park since his arrival at Ewood Park last summer and has already expressed his disappointment at not playing more for Rovers so far. It's understood that he'll join Sheff United on trial with the view to joining them in January in a loan move to help him acclimatise to English football and help secure himself a place in South African's World Cup squad.

This wouldn't be a bad thing as no one is benefiting by the South African International sitting around doing nothing for his money!!

Meanwhile another Rovers player who is already on loan with the Blades impresses their manager Kevin Blackburn. Mark Bunn is on loan at Bramall Lane and the goalkeeper's form is pleasing.

Blackwell told the Sheffield Star: "I'm really pleased with Bunny. He's done ever so well."

This is good news for Rovers, however, only if he returns to Ewood and this isn't something that looks that likely now as I'd personally feel that Bunn has become very happy with first-team football and wouldn't want to return to Rovers to be the back-up to Paul Robinson, if Bunn would even make the bench??

Bunny wil end up leaving at the end of the season I suspect. I live in Sheff and I get told thata aprt from one sticky patch where he got dropped for a few games he has been largely very goo.d They will be keen to keep him will the Blades. As for EVH... it doesnt look like he is having the impact required, but didnt Sam say that it would take him a few months anyway?!

Bunn had a very sticky patch at the end of September when he made a habit of letting in long range efforts. To be fair the defense in front of him was suffering from the sulking Kilgallon working at half pace at the time. Since coming back into the side earlier this month he has been outstanding, cumulating with an excellent display at QPR last Saturday. Paddy Kennys suspension lasts virtually to the end of the season, so if Bunn signs he will probably get an extended run for the rest of the season, but Kenny will be back next season.

Have you boys seen enough of Van Heerden to form an opinion?

not really buddy TBF. He has played in the odd sub appearance in the Carling cup and in friendlies with South Africa but thats it. From what I have seen he has decent pace and good work rate but that is about it!

I'd expect Bunn to leave (for good), if not in January then it'll be in the summer. Van Heerden isn't someone that I can say I've ever seen play at any level I don't think as I've missed his cameo's for us!!
