Allardyce: No Reward For Rovers Efforts!!

Allardyce: No Reward For Rovers Efforts!!

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce discusses his thoughts on our defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday with Sky Sports.

Allardyce believed that we deserved something more from our efforts against Tottenham at Ewood Park, however, all we got was a 2-0 defeat!! The Rovers manager knows how much of a threat Spurs are so he was happy with how we contained such an attack minded side, however, despite matching (if not bettering) Spurs in most areas the two goals from Peter Crouch (one after fouling Ryan Nelsen) proved the difference. You are able to watch and listen to what Big Sam thought here:

I do not think Big Sam has anything to moan about, If he remembers last season Spurs played very well. We had Sgt. wilson sent off because a Blackburn player looked for a foul and dived when he was touched, this led to two late goals which Blackburn were very lucky to get, Blackburn stayed in the Premier League as this got them on a good run and most Spurs fans believe cost them a top seven place. I feel it is a true example of " What goes around, comes around", football is not always fair, Sam get over it!!!

OxYid, palacios actually didn't make contact as he pulled out of the tackle. He was sent off and we missed him for a game because you cant appeal yellow cards. I think Gomes gaff at craven cottage cost us a european place as that would have been the difference, 1pt more for us and 2 pts less for them. Anyways, he moaned about 90 secs of added time when it was a min of one minute, and that crouch fouled nelson, well the foul was 50/50, i didnt think it was a foul, but I would say that. As for the time added, well i was the game at WHL when he was bolton manager the day that it was announced bill nic died, they did all they could to waste time that day, as you say what goes around comes around.

He isnt moaning, merely stating his opinion that on the balance of the game we deserved at least a point. Which the general consensus will tell you is true. The reason we didnt was our own fault so that is somet we have to deal with. Stop being so precious guys.

Mikey - If you deserved a point you would have got it. I hate all this talk of what people deserved after a game... people get exactly what they deserve during the game. You could have torn us apart for 90 mins but if you haven't got a striker good enough to finish your moves (which you haven't) then you won't win games. We deserved to win because at 2 points throughout the game we broke you down and beat your keeper.... you couldn't manage to do that to us, therefore you didn't deserve anything! I know if you look at the game you had more posession... but that's irrelevant... we used our posession more efectively. You lost because you're not very good... simple as that!

EPIC ARROGANCE there Dan Mac! We lost because we are not very good?! Whats the excuse you come up with when you lose? Like for Wolves last weekend? You lost because you're not very good?!

You always get at least one retro. It's different when it's Spurs that "should've got something" isn't it Dan Mac!!

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
