Dunn could make the difference against Spurs

To me it seems no coincidence that Rovers run of bore draws and the below par outing at St.Andrews has coincided with the injury to the Blackburn supporting David Dunn.

Dunny is indeed back in contention for Saturday and the home game against Spurs - and boy do we need him.

The defensive solidarity is back in the Allardyce ranks (last night aside) but the problem clearly lies up the other end of the pitch.

There is no link at present between attack and midfield. Strikers are starved of service and midfielders are lacking in support.

Prior to the last four games we have played in the league, David was THE link between midfield and attack and it is only now that he is out can we truly appreciate the difference he makes to our side.

The lung busting runs and the goal input from midfield are missing, that special little WOW factor that Rovers had when Dunny was in the side cannot be replaced by anyone else.

The topic of why we depend so heavily on one man is for another day but for now let's state the obvious...

Blackburn Rovers need David Dunn back and fast.

Just some thoughts for you guys to read... its been going through my head today!

Any word on Emo? And let's get Kalinic, Benni and Dunn out there together. Roberts needs a 20 week timeout to think about how bad he was yesterday.

As a spurs fan out of curiosity when Dunn plays is it as an AM (with a lone front man) or an ACM (with 2 strikers)?
Phartman87
It is the first one you mentioned mainly phartman. Normally Di Santo ahead of him but we all think (more or less) that the latter would be better for the side!

You're right Mr Mikey we need Dunn back and need him back fast. It would be very good for this to be in time for Tottenham as they'll offer us a major test!!
Walker
Especially after last night as well!!!! Spurs were very good.
Mikey Delap
we really need him, whether dunn is fit could make or break us this season

I wouldn't want to rush back Dunn if he's not ready as it's a long old season. And after watching Spurs yesterday, I have to say, and bearing in mind I'm not a fan of Spurs in the slightest, they were superb - Man City looked like a very poor team in comparison. Lets hope they go back to the team that lost to Wolves when they come up to Ewood!

Cheers Mikey - The reason I asked is becasue where we struggle is with organised teams with flair on the counter attack. When teams come at us with two strikers we normally pick holes in there defences. The way I see it if you play a disciplined 4-4-1-1 with Dunn in the hole you'll probably have a lot of joy on Saturday. So no harm in giving him a little more time to recover eh lads ;)

We are trying to be disiplined but I think the main reason we suffer is our own stupid mistakes! We cannot afford many against Spurs, they will slice us open if we lose concentration.
Mikey Delap
You are giving us far too much credit. We are still same old Spurs...dropping points when you least expect it :) Hope we won't do it tomorrow, as we really have a chance of entering christmas on a high.
NorwaySpurs
I hope you do Norway... drop points whenever you like, especially tomorrow!
