Chelsea give green light for Di Santo stay

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce will apparently be told he is all good to keep Franco Di Santo on loan for the remainder of the season - that is what the Daily Mirror are reporting.

The young Argentinian was due to return to Stamford Bridge on January 1st, with his initial loan deal due to run its course by then - but Ancelotti seems to have had a change of heart and the Mirror suggests it is because the striker will get a better development at Ewood than he would at Stamford Bridge.

Di Santo, has scored just the once this season but has been a big hit with fans for his lung busting performances and is a favourite of Sam Allardyce, so this initial news - if indeed true, will delight the Big Man.

It should also be noted that if Rovers do keep Di Santo till May, it will likely save the club a big amount of cash.

Good news seems to be on the horizon if you are a fan of the likeable Franco.

Good news if this gets confirmed...

I wouldn't trust a word of what The Mirror prints, though lads. I'm a little bit caught in the middle about what to do with Franco in January. We could do with him back to cover for Drogba and Kalou really, although there's no doubting he'd benefit more from staying with you lot up at Ewood until May. It's a tough call for Ancelotti.

I honestly dont know. if he stays and scores goals, he either goes back to chelsea, or chelsea slap a big price on him. If he stays and scores no goals, we have wasted 12 months, where we could of given Hoillet, Kalinic or any of our reserves a run....

We don't want to upset anyone from vital chelsea (one one person in particular) so i'd like to express my delight at securing the services of this 100% guaranteed future goal machine who is perfect in every way and tbh will be the best player in the world. Now on a serious note if he can add some goals to his great effort I'll be happy in the end, just think there is a bit too much pressure on him right now. With Dunny out why not try Di santo & Kalinic up front with Benni in the hole? Or am i being far too adventurous here haha.

lol I saw the dig at me, fellas. Anyway, he's banged in LOADS for our reserves, so the lad does know where the goal is. He's got to trigger his goal hunger, that's all...

lol fran... super post!

Franco needs to add a lot more goals to his game or is it even worth extending this loan if it'll hold back the development of someone else that probably will be here (or could be) this time next year when Frano probably isn't going to be?? Personally I'm a fan of his, but something have to change for this to work out right.

id love to see one of the academy players given a chance for example the way rooney got a chance! there is no way were gunna sign di santo plus we need to utilise what we can from our youth team this way we can save a hell of alot of money on transfers!!!
