Sam In The Stands

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce will definitely be back for Rovers on Saturday for our match against Liverpool at Ewood Park.

As Allardyce continues his recovery from his heart surgery (which saw him miss Premier League matches against Bolton Wanderers, Fulham and Stoke City along with our Carling Cup win over Chelsea) he's confirmed that he'll be back in charge for Liverpool's trip to Ewood. However, he'll be doing this from the stands.

Allardyce told Sky Sports News: "I will be up in the stand out of the way, and guiding it from there - I will be linked up and having some input, I will also speak to the lads before the game.

"It is an unexpected situation what has happened, and a bit of a traumatic experience but the specialists are saying I can move back into there now and get on with the job I love doing and I am looking forward to seeing the lads.
"

Big Sam was very grateful for the support and well wishes that he received and wanted to go on the record (in front of the Sky cameras) in thanking everyone, which he did. The Rovers manager admits that he must start taking better care of himself though.

He added: "There is obviously some greater care I will have to start doing and taking better care of myself.

"It is difficult but I will keep going for regular testing like I have done. A little more exercise when possible and go week by week and he said I should be fully recovered in two or three weeks."

Neil McDonald did a superb job in the absence of Big Sam, however, I'll be delighted to see him back running the show but make sure you take it easy or Mrs Allardyce will be having words with you again and I'd imagine that this would frighten you more than anything else!!

welcome back Big Man! You have been missed!

I'm looking forward to having Big Sam back but he's got to make sure he takes it easy. McDonald has done a superb job in his absence so there's no reason he shouldn't continue to use his assistant.
