MGP: Serious Enquires Made??

Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen is understood to be attracting interest from across Europe.

At least these are the claims of his agent Rune Hauge, however, he isn't expecting the Norwegian International to go anywhere in January.

Hauge told VG: "There have been serious enquiries.

"But it is usually a problem for European clubs to buy a player who has got a contract.
"

Agents often talk up their player's credentials and the interest in them when they're looking for something, which Hauge is here with Pedersen. A new contract!!

This is something that has caused plenty of talk among the VBers (Vital Blackburner's) recently, however, I think that we're all basically of the opinion that we wouldn't want MGP's contract to expire and then for the 28-year-old to leave for FREE at the end of the season. At the moment this looks like what will happen as contract negotiations continue to go nowhere.

Is it his agent being "crafty" or is the interest really there? It's still hard to know what to do, as I personally don't think we should give him a long-term contract, however, I don't want us to lose him for FREE next summer.

Just get him sold in January! I would personally accept anything more than 2 million for him... and bring in someone like Matty Jarvis from Wolves...

If he is going to go then we should get rid in Jan for sure. This sounds like an agent being a bit crafty here - he has said plenty of speculation but nothing concrete in a VERY roundabout way!

His agent is blowing smoke... If in fact he does leave, he won't find a better situation than Blackburn. I think he knows that. He's played the better part of 3 seasons or so with no one pushing him for playing time. He won't get that luxury elsewhere, unless he drops to a lower division and/or league, which we know he doesn't want to do. This could very well be his last professional contract...he wants to get paid.

Maybe the time is right for MGP to move on - he's not really putting in the match winning performances that he's capable of - perhaps he's been here too long - but it's probably just paper talk.

Holy hell, did anyone else forget that Morten played last night?!
