Rovers and Dunn to enter talks

The Rovers have opened contract talks with David Dunn as we finally try to tie down the services of our best player.

The in-form midfielder`s current deal expires in the summer and talks have been expected for a while so it is a suprise to see it hs taken this long for the two parties to make some sort of contact.

Dunn is in the know that there are other clubs who would be delighted to take him on, especially given his current form, but his strong preference has always been to stay at his boyhood club.

After a few seasons where even the strongest and most optimistic Rover doubted whether Dunn could hack it due to inury the 2009/10 season has removed all doubt. The fans will be delighted with this and the Ewood board view Dunn's new deal as an absolute must as they view him as the star player now.

It is only a matter of time I think...

Good news this as when he is fit as he has been this season, there is not a fan alive who can deny he is the best...

We need to keep Dunny - not just because he is good and playing superb at the moment but also because he is a local lad and that gives us the fans more pride in our club - me-thinks!
