'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nelsen : Who needs Iniesta? Not us we've got Dunn!

Skipper Ryan Nelsen is pretty sure that David Dunn is Blackburn's very own version of Barcelona's Andres Iniesta.

Dunn's performances this season have been nothing short of awesome and it has even led to speculation that Fabio Capello might see an England future for him - something that VBers have been pushing for.

Blackburn fan Dunn has found a new spot in the team in a withdrawn striker role and that has helped him keep injury free, something that Dunn has always struggled with despite having the talent.

But he is getting the best run in the team he has had for years and Rovers and Dunn are mutually benefitting from it.

Nelsen has even gone so far as to compare him to an unlikely source.

Nelsen said: 'I am not joking about him - I know how good he is. When he is on the field and playing consistently, there is no better player to watch. He is so smooth in his movement and on the ball.

'There are not many players around like that in England. He is such a fantastic passer of the ball.

'He is Spanish in the way he plays. He's like an Iniesta and there are not many Englishmen like that. He can add that dimension to a team.

'But Dunny has also got that English mentality - the drive and the will to win. He never gives up and he works hard.'

I wouldn't quite put him in that bracket Nelly but he is certainly on current form the best attacking midfielder in Premier League on current form.

Some kind words indeed but how long before we start calling Dunny something like "Dunniesta"?!

The amount of people who have said to me how impressed they are with Dunn at the moment is phenominal - I've just said that he always plays that way - it's just that he plays for a team that the media don't go on about in a positive way!
