Reidy joining QPR on loan

Injury plagued Rovers star Steven Reid is set to join QPR on an initial months loan.

The deal has been set up and word has veached Vital HQ that Steven is down in London finalising the move.

It must be stressed that Big Sam is keen to keep the Rep of Ireland man but sees a loan move as an ideal way to test his fitness.

If it does go well and the first month works out then the loan deal could be extended.

I personally think that although a bit of a suprise, this could work out well as Steven finally gets the ball rolling.

The right thing to do?

This is surprising.. Reid's out of contract in the Summer.. you'd imagine he'd have to prove himself worthy of a new deal by performing well for Rovers.. not for a Championship side.

Everyone nows he was a class player but he wont get games at rovers as his fitness is in doubt im assuming there is a recall clause in the contract incase of injuries to our other players

a month away is top stuff for him at a championship team! atleast 6 games in a month for him and if he can get on there team sheet play regularly for 6 games get his fitness up come back to us with few games under belt! has rest of season to prove hes got what it takes

well said scott. Great deal here. QPR are in a bit of an injury crisis in the midfield, if reidy can get a few games under his belt, and come back to us raring to go, would be great!

Personally (even if I've not been sure we'll see the best of Reidy again) I think this is a good thing as Reidy needs to play first-team football to get his match fitness and sharpness back and as QPR are having a good season (and are in need of a midfielder) this makes sense.

i think this is genius!! He's gonna benefit from this more than being in the reserves! This gives him a platform to stick it to Trapatoni too!!!
bennipoo
I don't think Trapatoni will be too worried, especially at the moment!

I am sure we will benefit from this though, Reidy will get a bit of a roughing up in the Championship so I would imagine if anything is going to test that injury then the championship teams will.
