Emerton backs Grella to step it up

Brett Emerton insists that Rovers fans have not seen the best of Vince Grella yet as Grella looks to come back from another injury and prove what all the hype was about when we signed him from Torino last summer.

Vince has looked good when on the pitch but a nightmare sequence of injuries has held him back from an extended run in the team.

But Brett knows him better than most and has spoken out on Vinnys' behalf.

Emerton, speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph said - "There is definitely a lot more to come from Vince. He has already shown in the games he has played that he has something to offer.

"I have known him for a very long time and I have never seen him pick up so many niggly injuries. It is unfortunate for him but I hope for his sake and ours he can put a game run of games together "Because he is a great player and I think he can bring something different to this team. Like I said, he has shown that when he has played and I am sure it will be just a matter of time before his injury problems ease."

"He works hard, breaks up a lot of the play, is a good passer of the ball and is something we need in this team, he is something we need but he just hasn`t had much time to show fans what a great players he us. I am sure he will.

"He has a great attitude on and off the pitch. He is a hard worker and I don`t think he will let it get him down. He has that toughness about him.

"He will keep working hard and making sure he gives himself every opportunity to play as many games as possible."

I actualy rate Grella and think he has more to show us than he has already. He does look up to the task when on the pitch.

I don't doubt him as a player as both the Vber Aussies sing his praises but I do doubt his ability to stay injury free.

That is the only thing preventing us from seeing the real Vince Grella.

Great stuff! Mate the lad has honestly never hadd an injury before he came to us at Rovers. He has played many years in Italy, and backed up for Australia time after time. I really think Ince rushing him after the first knock has had a flow on effect. Fingers crossed no morE!!!!!

He maybe needs to just give himself some rest instead of trying to rush back. We can see he is keen but I honestly believe him rushing back is doing him more harm than good!

lol not hating but this guy said the same thing last year or at the beginning of this season and then he goes and gets injured if he cant adjust by this season i say we cut our losses Yes he may be good ill give hhim that but if he aint on the pitch then its no use to us

trust me- give this guy a season and he'll be a hero. It not just the bias taling, Grella really is an absolute quality player. With time, he'll get back to full fitness and return the investment tenfold

Personally I'm very sure that we'll see the best of Grella, however, I must admit I'm getting tired of constantly hearing we're going to. I think it's time that the talking stopped and actions followed. This might sound harsh (I'm not trying to be thought) but enough talking now as we've hears this loads of times.
