Andrews in Lassana Diarra bust-up!

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews was involved in an amazing after final whistle confrontation with Frances' Lassana Diarra directly after Ireland's 1-0 defeat to France at Croke Park on Saturday night.

The Real Madrid midfielder, who had a great game on Saturday by all accounts, for some reason gave the Irish more incentive to come back at them in the second leg on Wednesday.

But then is this to be expected from someone who has always been a billy big boots?

The Daily Mail is reporting the following was said - '**** off, Irish p****. You are out.'

In the same paper, Andrews said - 'It was a disrespectful comment which typifies them, to be honest. It was typical of him and the way he was.

'There was a bit of niggle in the game but that happens. When the final whistle went, I saw him walking towards me and I thought he was going to shake my hand.

'Then he made a remark and, to be fair, I lost my head a bit. The manager has said he insulted Irish people, which is about accurate.

'You don't expect that from a professional. This play-off is only half-finished and for a person to come out with something like that, it's very disappointing. Our lads are aware of it so we'll see what happens. I don't think it'll take any extra motivation to win it. There's a World Cup place at stake.'

If Ireland do pull it off now and come back to win, you can't say France don't deserve it after that level of arrogance from one of their better players.

nothing quite like staying professional hey?!?!

I'm sure that Andrew's will remember this on Wednesday, he'll have to be careful though as if he goes over the top then he'll only damage Ireland's chances, which seem slim anyway.
Walker
theyll need something special to oversome the french but u never know

Stranger things have happened aadil - England qualified for one! lol

We scored in italy against a better defense. I would love to rub their noses in it and Blatter who would then probably make a rule that teams beginning with f get a 3 goal headstart

He does seem to make these rules up as he goes along!

Diarra didn't have a great game on Saturday, in the 1st half the French midfield was **** and they only beat us by a deflected shot. If we can keep our composure and not give away any silly goals I really think we are good enough to nick a result over there. If we score 1st I reckon the fickle French fans will turn on their team. Fair play to Keith, for a player with limited ability he had a good game on Saturday.
The Irish Rover
isn't that racism?... is he going to be up for a suspension or something?

is it right that Ireland have 25,000 fans going to France?! thats quite an invasion!
