Andrews Fancies Upsetting The French

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews is confident that the Republic of Ireland can cause and upset against the French and book a place at the World Cup Finals.

Ireland face France in the two-legged play-off for the right to take part in the 2010 World Cup Finals and Andrews feels that the Irish are capable of beating the former World Champions, with the first-leg taking place at Croke Park on Saturday.

Andrews told The Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "They have some fantastic players but we are very confident.

"We finished unbeaten in our group and we know they will not fancy playing against us. We can get through as we are very hard to beat.

"We have a real togetherness and hopefully we can nick a good result at home and really take it to them in the second leg.
"

I wish Ireland well and hope that they can beat the French over the two-legs, however, as I've not been that impressed with Andrews' form for Rovers this season I'd think they'd have a better chance if he wasn't playing perhaps!?

Me too Walker, for obvious reasons lol, but I'd agree if we could have Steven/Andy Reid or Stephen Ireland in there we might be in a better position but then again Keith has been one of the main stays that has got us this far so he deserves his place, I just hope he doesnt go missing.
