Diouf in hot water again due to racist comment

El-Hadji Diouf was last night accused of making a racist comment towards an Everton ball boy.

The Rovers winger was questioned by police after an incident where a ball boy threw a ball away from Diouf and Diouf is alleged to have made the comment. The Senegalese winger was preparing to take a corner at the time.

The referee`s assistant had to step in and calmed Diouf down who was losing his cool at the time.

El Hadji is not adverse to getting himself into trouble - he has been in trouble for spitting before when at Liverpool and Bolton.

A spokesman for Blackburn Rovers has stated in a press release that Diouf was spoken to by the local police force after the game yesterday.

The spokesman said Diouf was not arrested or charged as they would need to speak to other witnesses first.

It is fair to say that diouf is his own worst enemy sometimes and this is one of those cases.

Diouf is a character but the problem with that is that he can often spill over through passion - something he has never been able to control.

If it is proved that Diouf has made a racist comment then he deserves to be punished, something we can all safely agree, even if it is to the detriment of Rovers.

Not a good day yesterday at all.

not the sort of thing we need really is it....

Players such as Diouf and Chimbonda have had bad reputations before BFS signed them, and therefore he knows that along with the player he has to manage the man. It's too short to tell just yet with Chimbonda however I thought he had been doing quite a good job with Diouf until yesterday, the man really let himself, the team and the sport down. (IF the alleged is true that is!) Instead of taking any frustration out on teenage football fans he should have taken it out on the Everton defense...

I wish the world would go back to a bit more normality and stop being so sensitive to words.....! Can't see anything wrong with being called black, white, pink, baldy (me!) or the like really, it is only a statement of fact and surely if you are proud of what / who you are, it shoudln't matter. Then again, Diouf is a mouth malone and must be very brave having a go at a kid! I've been called worse than white in my time though! :o)))
The Fear
I suppose you are right in a way fear but if we let this go then it will become acceptable and then the boundaries of what can be said will be pushed out again - and keep going from there!
Mikey D
I disagree The Fear, if he had a go at the ballboy for not giving the ball as he wanted it then fair enough, but why would he need to bring race into it? If someone was racist toward him I'm sure he'd be annoyed. Diouf acted like an idiot, plain and simple.

yup, to be fair I did add that having a go at a kid is pathetic, just a bit tired of the politically correct world, especially as I have to face it each day running this network, there is always some liberal washy person telling me this word is wrong or that word is wrong! Typical Diouf this behaviour though isn't it!? What a ..... add your own word, I'd hate to get one wrong! lol
The Fear
Diouf is making himself and the club look more ridiculous now, by claiming Everton fans threw bananas at him.. surely this would have been picked up by TV cameras..?
TurkishDelight5
Fear - I agree that 'PC world' (add your own joke here) is getting beyond a joke - but then where has the friendly/cheeky banter gone with the fans - now we've got Diouf being a tw*t over a ball not properly thrown at him, to Bellamy pushing a Man U fan (probably deserved it!) and Adebayor taunting/inciting his old fans. What is going on?!
FreidelNo.1
Agreed FriedelNo1, then again maybe we are just looking back with rose tinted spectacles, I know when I first started going in the 70's it was pretty rough and ready and the early black players had to put up with a great deal of revoluting things. Must admit, the banter is what I love though, those with the contorted faces of hatred can do one as far as I'm concerned!
