Khizanishvili Joins Newcastle On Loan

Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili has left Ewood Park to join Newcastle United on loan.

The 27-year-old was expected to leave Ewood in the summer and was understood to be close to joining Galatasary, however, a move to Turkey never materialised. Since then the defender has been the subject of speculation linking him with a loan move to a few Championship clubs including Newcastle's rivals Middlesbrough, however, it's St James' Park where the Georgian International will play his football for the next three-months.

Khizanishvili is expected to make his Newcastle debut against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday where the Monk should face his Rovers team-mate Alan Judge who is currently on loan with Plymouth.

good move this - I was expecting him to rock up at Boro but never mind. He will enjoy a good run in the team there!
