Rovers Earn Newspaper Praise!!

Blackburn Rovers and praise being given to the club isn't something that happens that often is it!! But the Daily Mirror has done exactly that.

Rovers chairman John Williams has been sounded out for this praise for the running of the club over the years. Williams is praised for his decision making, deciding when to bring in managers (and who they are) and when to allow them to move on or dispense of them, along with his decision making on the players front (in consultation with his managers) for the same reasons and for reasons that are in Rovers' best interests.

Williams (in the article) was also given credit for his appointment of Paul Ince (as he did fulfil the criteria we were looking for) but also credit for deciding when to sack him and bring in Sam Allardyce. However, the article also points out that those that were critical of JW for not giving Ince more time in charge are not so forthcoming in their praise for making the right decision in the end, which he did!!

It seems Rovers rarely (not that I personally care as I pay little attention anyway, on the whole) get much praise but this makes a welcome change. You can read it by clicking here.

its only well deserved praise for one of the best ( if not the best, in my very biased opinon in this one ) Chairmen in the league....he def has the best interest of Rovers at heart, who in all honesty could have been hocked to cheap to some random oil magnet who would ( again in my opinion ) ruin the 'FAMILY ASPECT' of the club....i for one would rather see us in mid table than be another soul-less, life-less play thing for some multi millionaire who doesnt give a flying **** about the actual club

I suppose that is where the frustration lies for Rovers fans. The papers report this like it is somet new but we have known it for years!!!!
