Saunders Trying To Coax Legend Out Of Retirement

Saunders Trying To Coax Legend Out Of Retirement

Interesting news to be filed under 'really?' is that Dean Saunders is making a serious push to get Tugay out of retirement and join his Wrexham side as the former Rovers coach looks for re-inforcement outside of the transfer window,

Rovers legend Tugay retired at the end of last season after 8 glorious years at Ewood Park and is now taking his coaching badges in an attempt to make a serious move into coaching (Note to Sam - Keep an eye out for when he is qualified).

But the Turk would be free to move back to a playing role as and when he deems fit as he is not bound by the transfer window as he is not registered to play for anybody - now it up to Dean Saunders, who worked with Tugay under Graeme Souness to convince Tugay Wrexham is the place to be.

A good story to kick off the day.

I dont mean this in a patronising way but would Tugay consider this?

If he could have a player/coach role maybe he could be tempted. A decent level to learn his trade. Saying that I dont see it happening.

Surely Notts County seems more realistic.

wasn't there rumours about this happening a few months back? I don't see Tugay giving up badges with city to go anywhere really, unless he misses playing too much and goes the player/coach route

Come again? I was pretty sure Tugay being at City was just a bit of speculation? Otherwise I'm pretty sure this and the Notts County attempts would be ridiculous if he was already in a job??

Still could do with the legend around Ewood, look at the response he got against West Ham, our biggest cheer! Can't see this move materialising.

I am fairly confident that when/if Rovers came calling he would more or less drop what he was doing and come to Ewood. One of the very few who would as well.
