We Missed Rothen But We've Done OKAY

We Missed Rothen But We've Done OKAY

Blackburn Rovers had been strongly linked with a move for Jerome Rothen, however, we missed out on the winger who opted for Glasgow Rangers instead.

The 31-year-old former French International completed a season-long loan move to the Scottish Champions (from Paris St Germain) on Transfer Deadline Day saying that the prospect of playing for Rangers was to exciting for him to refuse, however, he did reveal that he did have an offer from Rovers. Rothen would've been a good signing and despite a quiet Deadline Day at Ewood Park I'm not unhappy with what the Summer Transfer Window did bring as we've signed some VERY good footballers with the potential to have very, very good short-term and long-term careers with Rovers. It's a shame that Stephen Warnock moved on but that was his choice.

We now know what we've got so we just concentrate on the football now, we no longer have the distractions about a certain players signing or others leaving we just concentrate FULLY on the football, which is something we NEED to start doing!!

Couldnt agree more Walker, time for the team to get their heads down and start to play, 3 points would be a good start!

Rumours may surface again before we know it be we all know that NOTHING can happen until January, so we now have a few months to let the football (and ONLY the football) do the talking. We have a good enough squad to be well clear of any potential relegation trouble by January, so let's make sure we do this!!

We didnt need Rothen, I think Sam may have realised this and thats why he ended up in Scotland, no offense to Rangers ( a life long fan here ) but they def needed him more and i think with his age he will have a better swan-song against Raith/Dundee rather than Utd/Arsenal....Good luck to him, but he was not the player we needed
