Rovers Close To Landing Brazilian

Blackburn Rovers look to have finally won the long race for highly-rated Brazilian youngster Dionatan Nascimento - beating off a massive level of interest from across Europe.

The MFK Kosice star actually spent two weeks at Ewood during the summer and it was widely reported that he had impressed Sam Allardyce.

But the interest is big in the 18-year-old with rival Premier League clubs such as Man City registering a fancy, as well as sides from Italy, Spain, Germany and Holland, so this could prove to be something of a coup for Rovers.

One problem for Nascimento is that he is not yet eligible to play in England due to work permit regulations, so even if Blackburn did secure his signature, which now seems likely - they would need to loan him back out ala Junior Hoilett.

Sorry Mikey..Brazilian youth football not my strong point.

Haha 74. Seems like a good signing, but shame about the loan situation.. what position does he play? And any idea of cost?
rover23
I believe he is not costing much at all I believe! And he is a central defender...

this could be a fantastic move. A couple of years to bring him up as Nelsons long term replacement?
retroflair31
Big Sam's famed for getting the best out of veterans and discovering hidden gems. Will proabably take 4 or 5 years though if he's a typical CB
Phartman87
his stats on football manager are hidden!! lol might need to send my scouts out
sasman
Brazilaren't known for their quality defenders... still as long as he had a trial and he impressed who am I to argue!
FreidelNo.1
Give him a chance eh??? We might as well but i think that we already have our long term Nelsen replacement.....Gunning, is absolutely clas and assuming we can keep a hold of him then he has a huge future....watch this space!!!
mani13963
True Freidel, they aren´t, but isn´t it time for changing? :P Anyway, with all the talented attacking players Brazil have had all this years, who steals the show every game, it is hard for a defender to become a real star. Even Franz Beckenbauer would found it hard to become a star if he was brazilian. The interpetation of defenders will often just be the guys on the floor, the real stars scores the goals. Sad, but true

mani you are dead right there dude... Gunning has been lauded ever since he chose here over Man Utd and Arsenal... good man!
