New Season - Same Old Injury Problems!

Despite having more than enough of a decent squad available, Rovers are trying to test the mettle of it early with up to six Rovers first team players picking up knocks to put them in doubt for the visit of West Ham tomorrow.

New boy Fruit Pascal (yes I am going to try and ram this down your throats) will be in contention but there are several stars missing or doubtful.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Steven Reid, Franco Di Santo and Ryan Nelsen will more or less be definitely missing tomorrow but Benni McCarthy, Brett Emerton and El Hadji Diouf are also 50/50 to play due to slight knocks.

The good news is that David Dunn, Vince Grella and Nikola Kalinic are all good to go as Rovers look to turn good performances to good points...

Come on Rovers!

We are still looking ok as even without all of those we can still go with - Robbo, Jacobsen, Samba, Givet, Chimbonda, Dunny, Grella, N'Zonzi/Andrews, Pedersen, Roberts, Kalinic.
Mikey D
Lets hope he pairs up N'Zonzi and Dunny as these two should compliment each other in midfield. If Benni inured a home debut for Kalinic.
Rover_since74
who would you play on the right though 74 if Diouf and Emo are injured?
Mikey D
Andrews on the right... give him a chance to express himself a bit
retroflair31
Def Emo on the right. He was our best player last year up until he got hurt. He brings all the fire of Doiuf but without the drama and histrionics. I think Diouf puts in a better cross but Emo is better on the deck. I'm excited to get him back. Diouf makes a great sub for the last third of the game.

Robbo,............... ............................. .............................. Jacobsen, Samba, Givet, Chimbo, ........................ ......................... . Dunn, N'zonzi, Andrews, Pedersen ................................................... Roberts, Kalinic, If chimbo doesnt make it in, then i would say whack andrews to right back, and then put grella into CM and then push lars into LB! i think it will be quite flexible whatever happens!
Blue n Whitey
But will Emo be good to go injury wise So Cal?
Mikey D
Andrews to start on the right if no Emmo or Diouf. If not working put Dunny on the right, Grella and N'Zonzi/Andrews down the middle.
Rover_since74
Inside word is that Sam is going to give Grella a few days off after the armed hold up...maybe this is a cover up and he will play, but thats what I have been told
sasman
Can't see Grella being in the right frame of mind after an ordeal like that but who knows - he's an Aussie. I expect that one or two of the 'injured' players will pass a late fitness test - just to keep the hammers guessing! Good to see that we still have options - doesn't look as desperate as last season.
YORK ROVER
I think that whatever happens BS will put a stealy midfield out with a combination of Nzonzi, Andrews or Grella. If Diouf is unfit then i think Dunny will get the nod....i know he aint played much but Sam has raved on about him enough this wek to make me think that BS wants him in....doesnt take a genious to work out that he is our most creative player.....also think he will try to wheel out Mcarthey next to roberts as oppose to kalinic who he wants to ease in from his interview...agree in the main with Mikeys team!!! That was the team i picked in bed last night!!! ha ha
mani13963
Maybe he will go 4-3-3 with 2 wide strikers. Grella n zonzi n dunn in the middle, gamst wide left, mccarthy wide right, and kalinic up top.
