Allardyce: Bring A Real Madrid Attitude

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has challenged new signing Michel Salgado to bring the same winning mentality to Rovers as Fernando Hierro did to Bolton Wanderers.

When manager of Bolton Allardyce signed veteran Spanish defender Hierro from Real Madrid and he came and had a "Real Madrid attitude", which is something Big Sam wants Salgado to do and have at Ewood Park (as he feels he will) following his arrival after his release by Real Madrid.

Allardyce told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "I want him to bring a Real Madrid attitude to the dressing room. That is what Fernando did at Bolton and we all benefited.

"Hopefully that will be the case with Michel.
"

The 33-year-old has won just about everything in the game (domestically in Spain, as well as two Champions League titles) and has NOTHING to prove, but the right-back has already himself said how excited by the move he is and is looking to make an impression over the next two-years (at least) and Big Sam feels that he will offer us a lot more than just his experience and quality on the pitch.

He added: "Michel is an outstanding player. This lad will bring an awful lot, not just on the field but to the club in general.

"It will give us bigger status. He will demand more from the players rather than me or the coaches.
"

There isn't really much more that can be said about the Spanish International that hasn't already been said (in this, or previous articles written on Vital Blackburn) we just now await Salgado's debut and look forward to the impact that he will have, however, it's safe to say that EVERYONE is happy with this signing!!

I think that all the talking that needs to be done about Salgado is now done lol!!

lol Walker. If he brings that attitude with him that Sam speaks of then the whole dressing room will benefit.

So agree with you Mikey, he have the abality to fresh up the atmosphere. I really think Salgado would have been a good step in for Liverpool actually, and Rafa should start to think rather than wining and complaining. I think we already may have replaced Tugay :)

Lets let his performances do the talking, as for replacing Tugay, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to say.

Looking more and more forward to see how the game against Gillingham goes with both Salgado and Kalinic....cheers

That game will give us a good indicator for sure... excited by both signings!
