Villa In For Warnock?

Villa In For Warnock?

There seems to be a rumour going that Aston Villa have bid for Stephen Warnock. Martin O'Neill, an admirer of Warnock's has finally decided to lodge a bid.

Sadly, the rumoured price offered by Villa is a paltry £4 Million, way short of a player on the fringes of the England setup and Rovers player of the year last season.

It remains to be seen wheterh Rovers will reject this offer (more than likely) and whether O'Neill follows this up with another offer.

It is likely that this will be reported in the Daily Mirror tomorrow.

If there was any truth in this do you think SA would be interested in a swap deal involving Shorey??

Love paper talk, samba is worth 8 million but warnock 4, lol these guys obviously have nothing better to write about, if i was sam the only way id let him go to villa for that price was if the player they gave us was Ashley Young.

£4 million? I like O'Neill but sadly this is taking the p*ss. He is worth £10 million at least. I am sorry Royal Villa but 74 is right - Shorey is half the player Stephen is.

I was thinking more of a player + cash deal, so maybe Shorey + £4m?? I think that Warnock is a better player than Shorey. Personally I think Warnock's worth about £8m

oh I get you now Royal - thats cool. But having said that we dont need to weaken our side for money. I personally think that warnock is worth £8 million in a normal world but this summer has been mental so it needs to be higher than that before we even consider anything!

So agree with you Mikey D. We can´t afford to sell our players and get weaker replacements. That´s Portsmouths game. I mean Warnock would be worth 12 millions Big Sam are talking about at: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/08/12/1435793/aston-villa-must-treble-offer-for-blackburn-rovers-stephen, and maybe more. And actually, Merlin: MON is a cheeky ********. As I can see now, it´s a bit strange, but I always respected MON as a manager. But if this is true, he can go to the place Roque are going, after flopping in City this season :P

folks, shocking news here, just because the press say a bid has been made, it doesn't actually mean a bid has been made. All well and good slating MON for things he has done, but unless the clubs are actually quoted on this, I very much doubt a £4m bid was made!
