'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kalinic Speaks...

Nikola Kalinic is really looking forward to playing for Blackburn Rovers, but he has held his hands up and admitted he will need time to adapt to English game.

Croatia striker Kalinic is due to complete his Rovers move now he has secured his work permit.

Kalinic told Slobodna Dalmacija - 'I didn't play for two months and I need some time to get in good shape,'

'English football is much tougher than Croatian and it is not easy to adapt to this, but I'm getting better and better every day.'

Nikola has also stated he faces a fight to get in the Rovers team but will be brave and fight for his spot.

He also seems to have struck up an immediate friendship with Rovers loan boy Franco Di Santo.

Nikola continued - 'Everybody in Blackburn greeted me with a warm welcome, but the player with whom I spend most of my time is Franco Di Santo.

'We are both newcomers in this club and it is logical that we are very close.

'We both know that Blackburn has many great players, so it won't be easy to get in the team, but we both have time.

'Time is certainly on my side. I am not scared of anybody, I just have to get in my best shape and then I will be ready to fight with everybody.'

Glad to see the fighting spirit in this lad, i really think he has what it takes to become a really great striker for rovers.

the best one i've read about kalinic is him talking about settling into life other here, mainly driving on 'the wrong side' of the road! he seems like he has alot of character and great willingness! on another note, who the hell keeps tampering with the polls?!
GoneRoverBoard
Let see some goals sometime this year, then we can value him better...cheers

aye gone rover board, there is absolutely nothing we can do with the polls unfortunately, if you do want a more accurate poll, you can actually start one yourself in the forums, and each person is actually restricted to 1 vote in the poll

Hehe never a truer word said Riisenholt.

who knows who tampers with the polls but take Sas's advice with that one! I love his attitude it is similar to Di Santo, he wants to do well and he loves being at Rovers which is exactly what we want!

You can never have enough polite people! Its a shame there is not more Englishman with a bit of manners!
Mikey D
doubt he will be playing sat judging by this though
rover23
he wont play sat, as he needs to return to croatia to collect his work permit.. ah well.. di santo and mccarthy up front against city
rover23
i like the look of this lad. should break through and score plenty
retroflair31
personally i think he will take a few years to settle then we shall see the best of him but he could prove me wrong hopefully:D

Another Croat here. In my opinion, you bought a good prospect, but don't expect too much this season, as he's still a young player. Croatian players usually need one season to adapt, because the difference in the pace of the game is huge between EPL and Croatian league. In 2-3 years, this kid will be an awesome striker. Greetings from Croatia ~
