Rovers Moving For Ex-Real Star?!

The Mirror is reporting that Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has swooped for tough tackling Spanishman Michel Salgado - who used to play for Real Madrid in what could prove to be a stunning capture.

The rock hard 33-year-old right back, has apparently been in Lancashire for talks today if the red top is to be believed.

Salgado was reported to be at Ewood for talks and to see what was on the table for him - and Sam is keen due to the quality Michel could offer.

The veteran master is apparently keen to play in England before he retires and fancies the top level. Admittedly there is some suprise at this as Sam has already called upon the services of Lars Jacobsen this summer but Sam being Sam always wants experienced players.

As the old saying goes - this could be either genius or complete madness...

Hmmm...dont quite know what to think of this. Focus on a creative midfielder Sam - we got the defence covered!

what?!?! whats wrong with jacobsen?! think this story is a reach at best, tho he was a quality player!

I don´t thin right back is our biggest problem. I don´t belive this one actually. Big Sam knows better than signing a right back, unless he rate Emo as our right-midfielder this season. He turned Rothen down since he was left- midfielder, but wants Angulo. Something is fishy. How much money do we got left? We should use it on a creative midfielder.

Time is ticking lads!!!!

Couldn't salgado play the midfield place, where we need some backup, an experience player as salgado could play other positions and might want to try that as well. You see that quite offen. Think we are well covered on the right side......cheers

He hinted yesterday that he believes the wings are covered, not sure about this either to be honest, Salgado in a rovers shirt hmmmm

We'll see how this one goes but they do sound certain of themselves!

Hmm, I really would like to see some kind of creativity being brought into the side. It's not too late yet... but we're certainly cutting it a little fine,

p.s. I'm looking at the poll - who has been voting for Warnock at CM?!?! With Nelson and Samba looking doubtful, Givet must move into the centre and Warnock moves back to left back. Not ideal - but it looks like the season'll start in classic Rover's style with a whole heap of injuries...
Money4midfield
mmmmmmmm a risk? but i would be willing to take that

what about Olsson at left back? That is an option if we are short of options!!!

complete madness I'll go for!

Jacobsen really is the only player in this position. Emo still a right winger (and sadly ageing/injured) while Andrews is a last resort. At 33, can not be that bad a move
