Rothen Deal Is Not An Immediate Move

Rothen Deal Is Not An Immediate Move

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce admits a deal to sign Paris St Germain winger Jerome Rothen is not going to happen soon.

Rothen had been strongly linked with the Rovers after PSG insisted he would be moving on and the Frenchman was expected to travel to the North West for talks with Blackburn today, but that looks a little wide of the mark.

The snag here is that while Allardyce admits he likes Jerome, he wants to strengthen other areas of the team first (hint Sam: the middle part of the pitch).

Allardyce told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph - 'Jerome Rothen is of an interest to us, but he is a left sider and I don't feel as though we need strengthening in the wide positions,'

'Left and right we are pretty strong. Brett is on his way back, we have Dioufy, Elrio, Morten, young Junior who looks bright.

'From that point of view I don't think that is a priority.'

Still waiting on that Kalinic news guys by the way...

Makes sense to me this - I think if Sam is gonna buy after this Kalinic deal is completed (hopefully) then it will be in central midfield.

I dont wanna start a new poll because of this question, so I gonna put it in the most relevant article. What happend with Einar Gudjohsen? Isn´t time for Big Sam to persude a real star? He´s definitly the one we are looking for. There will be no more question how this season will end with EG :)

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.

Different Date Same Outcome

International call ups for Leutwiler, Mulgrew and Evans, along with provisional calls for Lenihan and Williams mean the trip to Doncaster has changed, the hoped outcome wouldn't.
