Rothen Expected At Rovers For Talks

French midfielder Jerome Rothen is expected at Rovers for talks with Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce very soon.

Jerome currently plays for PSG but is not wanted there anymore due to discplinary problems so he is understandably keen to move on.

Allardyce, who has a reputation for getting the best out of fiery players - sees Rothen as a great bargain signing as he feels he can keep Rothen under control.

This one seems to be gathering pace and it looks like he can provide immediate competition in the centre and on the left of midfield.

I thought this one had died a death so it is a suprise to see this one back up and running!

This would be a superb signing. But I´ve heard something about PSG demanding a fee for Rothen. Do we have anymore left from our budget?
Norwegianrover
I think we do dont we? £6 million Kalinic, Di Santo loan, Jacobsen free, N'Zonzi £400,00, Van the Man free, Givet £4 million - I make that £10.4 million....
Mikey D
Which means 2-4 million pounds?
Norwegianrover
left for new players? I thought we only had 13-14 million this season. That some of the RSC money was spend on some outcomes.
Norwegianrover
this should be a gd signing if big sam can keep him under control
Letsdothesamba
sceptical that he can still perform to his once high standards.... also, with a couple of 'fiery' players at the club, how long is ther 'til a disagreement?
GoneRoverBoard
Be good if he can keep him on his leash
mutts nutts
TBF Sam had a combo Campo, Anelka, Diouf, Nolan and Diouf at the Reebok and he kept them all in check - I wouldnt worry about that GRB!
Mikey D
haha, diouf so fiery, u named him twice :D
GoneRoverBoard
Rothen would add that touch of fire and flair to the midfield, just so long as he doesnt get his "retirement" deal out of us!
BomBom
Lad was good when he played for AS Monaco against us!
merlin
pay as you play contract? i think that would be the best option
sasman
lol GRB! only just noticed that! I meant to throw in Kev Davies as well!
Mikey D
Get him sigend then we are in ready for the season :-)

it will be good to have someone puttin some real pressure on pedersen, his place wont be taken for granted anymore an maybe he could beat the first man on corners!
Sammo69
Can he play in the centre as well?
