Rovers Youngsters Loaned Out

Blackburn Rovers have allowed two of our young teenagers to join League One sides (on loan) ahead of the start of the season.

19-year-old Midfielder Alex Marrow (who can also play at full-back or in central defence) has joined Oldham Athletic on a one-month loan. Marrow will go straight into Oldham's squad for their League One opener this weekend but isn't going to be available for their Carling Cup matches.

Meanwhile central defender Gavin Gunning has joined Tranmere Rovers, also on a one-month loan deal and he will also go into their squad for the opening weekend of the League One season. Tranmere manager John Barnes was grateful to get the 18-year-old on loan.

Barnes said: "He (Gunning) is another young, talented defender who will improve our squad.

"I'd like to thank Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce for allowing Gavin to join us on loan.
"

Both Marrow and Gunning featured for Rovers during Pre-Season but aren't going to be that close to the first-team for some time (if they make it) but these loan moves in the meantime will do both the power of good.

lets hope they get some vital first team football under their belt and come back better for it!

yeah same as most of the loan moves that we have done for young players. We dont need them right now so getting them some experience and to come back stronger works out very well.

good stuff, get the kids out their and test them in regular action.....though once they start going out, they rarely come back and impress...
