Rovers Boss Makes Move For Kalinic

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is ready to swoop in from under Portsmouth's noses and sign Croatia striker Nikola Kalinic. There was talk in the press that Rovers had bid for a mystery striker and it looks like this is the man that they meant.

Allardyce has started talks with the striker and his club Hajduk Split and hopes to complete the deal fast. This all coming just a day after Kalinic walked out on a move to Portsmouth.

Hajduk are willing to take the 6 million that is on offer from Rovers as they are less than impressed that Pompey have pulled out of a deal from their end.

nooooooo, say it isnt so!
altho if the 'as they are less than impressed that Pompey have pulled out of a deal from their end' thoughts are what the media is saying, lets remember that the media isnt always right as that 'might' not acutally be how things have played out...
pompeyrug
quite possibly rug but it seems we are stepping into the breach. We need the reinforcements!
Mikey D
he will be a blackburn player by the end of today ... pompey literally have no balls at the moment! Bad bad BAD times!
pompey--pessimist
Kalinic will be a Pompey player by close of play, Monday, I'm told.
UKTony
who knows guys?! Looks like we are in the driving seat now though! UK Tony - your source?
Mikey D
I can't say that I've heard of the dude (apart from the limited I've read in the newpapers recently!!) Sounds like he's a player that is wanted though??
Walker
Since some vital portsmouthers are on here - maybe one of them can tell me what the hell has happened at Portsmouth? Are you actually going to have a team to field next season - You're leaking players like a rusty bucket!?!
Money4midfield
We're Spring ( Summer ) cleaning, lol.
moley2
i do like the fact that we could nick this player from under the noses of a premiership rival! though don't know much about him.... is he worth 6 mil, what are his attributes anyone!?
GoneRoverBoard
Just checked out a bit of info on him. He is 21 and his goalscoring record is 38 goals in 69 games for split (including 3 hat-tricks) and Slaven Bilic has called him the "future of Croatian football" - sounds good to me!
Mikey D
checked him on footy manager, not too bad! good finishing, good long shots, good strength, decent pace, 188 tall....not my kind of striker lol
sasman
are we still working off footy manager stats now?!
Mikey D
it looks like you have signed him as reports coming out of croatia that have been shared on vital pompey are saying that kalinic has signed a 4-year deal with blackburn? 'if' proven true i reckon you have signed a really good striker...
pompeyrug
hes young dynamic very good at set pieces fast and balanced hes also very agressive.
Uskok
when nothing else comes to mind, footy manager is always safe! Do you know that they pay real scouts to come up with the attributes for these players? Sometimes they are so accurate it is believable. Gamst Pederson has Flair at 18, but work rate at 6 lol. Savage had agression at 20, tackling 17, fitness 17, and his technical attributes about 6/7 lol.
