Player Of The Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2008-2009 season.

The nominations have finished and the FINAL Award of the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2008-2009 is dished out with the PLAYER OF THE SEASON.

THE WINNER: Stephen Warnock

When asked to simply leave the name of your Player of the Season most felt Warnock should be the Award Winner, so congratulations to Stevie W for picking up the highest accolade possible!!

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by clicking here.

Mikey D said: "Stephen Warnock.

Our best left back and our best midfielder. With the exception of the solid and reliable Ryan Nelsen and the hot and cold Samba/McCarthy he has been a cut above.
"

retroflair31 said: "By the sounds of things, Warnock getting this is a formality. But i would like to throw Samba's name into the mix. Held down the defence and did a job up front.

A lot of respect to the Wall for his effort this year.
"

Money4midfield said: "I think so retro. I just don't see anyone else in a Rovers shirt who can honestly say they've played all season. Many were on the pitch under Ince, but few bothered playing. Injuries cut short promising starts from Emerton and Dunn. Warnock. No contest."

glen9mullan said: "Warnock has been immense all season and truly deserves all the accolades he will get."

adrianbrfc said: "Stephen Warnock."

BomBom said: "Looks like this one is nailed on, so I will add another nail....Stevie Wee for me too."

Blue n Whitey said: "Stevie Warnock for me too... definitely looks like a whitewash to me! might aswell announce it now! Haha."

roverjoy said: "Warnock has to be, shame for Emerton he would have been it if not injured."

sasman said: "Definitely goes to Warnock, class act!"

roversman said: "Yeah Stevie Warnock has to get it. I'd like to say how well Emerton was playing before the injury, player of the season up until then and Benni has done well and perhaps not got the plaudits he deserves."

Durks said: "Emerton for me, he was showing more passion and turned it into performances more than anyone else in a poor season."

FreidelNo.1 said: "Warnock - without doubt!"

JuanFranDeLaHuego said: "Got to agree with everyone - Warnock. Although I think Emerton was awesome while he was fit and Ooijer (?) was like a new player in the last few games."

dominator2800 said: "My vote goes to Warnock too, but I say Nelsen is a close second."

spinaker said: "Warnock!!!"

Blue_Canoe said: "Tough one, but I'd give it to Robinson. Warnock a close second. If Emerton had had a full season he would probably have taken this, because he was excellent before the injury."

Thanks for voting on this, and ALL the other Awards this summer (a full list of winners will be published shortly), the VBer End of Season Awards will be back again next summer!!
