Young Player Of The Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2008-2009 season.

The nominations are still being taken for ONE other Award (Player of the Year) but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2008-2009 reach its penultimate Award to be dished out with the YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON.

THE WINNER: Aaron Dorran.

When asked to simply leave the name of your Young Player of the Season most felt Matt Derbyshire should be the Award Winner, so congratulations Derbyshire on picking up the accolade!

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by click here.

He hasn't been around ages but from what I have seen him I have thought he has got better and better. Well done lad.

Money4midfield said: "I'm not sure any of our youngsters made the breakthrough this season. Doran, Treacy and Villanueva all promised much this season, but were outclassed when actually on the pitch. I'm all out on this one. Derbyshire in Greece? ... I vote N\A."

glen9mullan said: "I'm gonna go for fielding, been out on loan most of the season but has capped a pretty good year for himself by being capped for the England under 21's"

adrianbrfc said: "Doran just because he's managed to break into the team."

BomBom said: "Well, Ince certainly liked Treacy but he fell out of favour a bit under BSA whereas Aaron Doran managed to get on the pitch, even in the Liverpool game, therefore.....

Aaron Doran, lets hope the progress continues next season.
"

Blue n Whitey said: "Yeah I'm going for Aaron Doran as well, he's progressed massively under Big Sam! so Doran it is for me!"

roversman said: "I'm going for Treacy as I was pleased with what I saw when he featured. Needs to tidy up his distribution but I think he has bundles of talent. Gets the nod over Doran as he had more pitch time."

Durks said: "Tough one again but I reckon Doran gets my vote as he has put himself in a good position for next season and looks like the next youngster to step up to the first team."

FreidelNo.1 said: "I'm backing Treacy as he showed some good stuff."

JuanFranDeLaHuego said: "Only one choice. Tugay."

sasman said: "um lol well said Juan, I back you on this one....go Tuggers!!!"

Blue_Canoe said: "Treacy is a waste of space, Doran I didn't see enough of to make a judgement (although he didn't impress me so much when I saw him), ditto Olsson, which leaves only Derbyshire (although his best games were in Greece!). Hopefully we'll see more young players next year."

rover23 said: "Olsson's season was overshadowed by his sending off at spuds.. he had a good season for me.. but I'm going for Doran for finally breaking into the first team squad! Well done Aaron!"

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for the FINAL Award, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!

Next to be dished out will be the FINAL Award for the PLAYER OF THE SEASON so keep voting!! (Click here.)

This was a fairly dearth area of the awards as youth wasnt given a chance last year for obvious reasons!
