Grella Injury Not As Bad As Expected

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce believes a hamstring injury that has kept Vinny Grella out of the last two friendlies is not too bad at all.

The Australian is expected back in training at somepoint this week for Vince to crack on with the rest of the pre-season.

Vince has had a shocking injury record so far at Ewood and the knock he picked up at Roma had everyone rolling their eyes again but it is nowhere near as bad as feared.

In other news to be filed under 'good' both Brett Emerton and Steven Reid are making excellent progress in their quest to return.

Allardyce, updating the injury statuses on rovers.co.uk said - 'We had a couple of little injuries with a couple of players who didn“t take part,'

"They are only slight knocks, we are not envisaging that they“ll be any longer than a day or two.

'We are also hearing good progress on Brett Emerton back at home and Steven Reid is coming along too.'

I am glad to hear this as the last thing e need is another Grella injury blow - he has been earmarked for the defensive midfield role this season.

he is fine lads, you know how it is, pre season and all

I just hope he holds up! We dont want another season like last time!

sounds like an injury that will hamper him over the course of next season... time will tell, but £4mil is seeming an awful lot unless he proves to be a rock!
GoneRoverBoard
He has looked good on the whole apart from the odd stray pass. However as GRB says - no good if he on the treatment table all the time!!!
Mikey D
Uncomfortable reminders of his injury dogged first season at Ewood Park - hopefully it is nothing serious and he gets a good injury-free run this season.
YORK ROVER
Looked good the occasional time he was fit last season, hope he isn't cursed like Reid/Dunn otherwise it was a massive outlay for a white elephant

grella is a star, end of story
