Goal Of The Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2008-2009 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2008-2009 continue to be dished out with the GOAL OF THE SEASON.

THE WINNER: David Dunn v Everton.

When asked to simply leave the name of the player (and obviously who the goal was against) you felt scored the Rovers Goal of the Season most felt Dunn against Everton should be the Award Winner, so congratulations to Dunny.

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by clicking here.

Mikey D said: "Brett Emerton v Aston Villa Away.

What a free kick that was. Not a keeper in the world keeping that out - not even our old keeper in fact!

Money4midfield said: "My vote goes to David Dunn vs Everton in the first game of the season. Absolute cracker and a high which we never quite reached again."

glen9mullan said: "Ummmmm mine at soccer aid at the blackburn end lol. Villanueva's v Blyth, stunning free kick."

adrianbrfc said: "Dunn against Everton away."

Blue n Whitey said: "I'm split between two.... Dunn v Everton away- superb individual goal, or Warnock v Villa away, great team goal!?!?! I think if I was asked to choose one to watch again, it would be Dunny's season opener! DUNN v Everton."

FreidelNo.1 said: "The one that kept us up!"

marsmanic said: "Warnock vs Villa, like you said good team move. Villanueva vs Blyth would have been more special if he had a decent goalkeeper to beat, no offence to Mark Bell but he is hardly Gianluigi Buffon."

JuanFranDeLaHuego said: "Choice of two. Not for quality of the goals but what they meant. MGP's elaborate celebration comes second, my vote going to Nelson. Good for him."

dominator2800 said: "I'm going with Dunn's away goal at Everton too on opening day. One and probably the only play that really stuck out in my mind. What a beauty."

sasman said: "A few great goals there, but i personally don't think their was a more important goal than Jason Roberts v Fulham. The guy has missed about 12000 sitters, and to turn and blast it in the net, giving us heaps of breathing space against the bottom was awesome."

Blue_Canoe said: "Got to go with Santa Cruz versus ManU - as much for Ooijer's breathtaking Brazilian moves as for the finish."

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for these other Awards, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!

Next to be dished out will be the Award for the VITAL BLACKBURN MOMENT OF THE SEASON so keep voting!! (Click here.)
