Allardyce Wants Smith On Loan??

Blackburn Rovers have been linked with Alan Smith already this summer but this speculation is returning with Sam Allardyce understood to be lining up a loan deal.

Allardyce knows Smith from his time at Newcastle United so it's easy to see why this speculation is running, which might be nothing more than speculation?? It's being said that Big Sam wants to bring Smith to Ewood Park on a year-long loan deal, however, with Smith on a reported £60,000-a-week we'll demand that Newcastle continue to pay a percentage of his wages??

The idea of bringing the former England International to Ewood hasn't gone down well in the past so I'd not expect these opinions have changed?? Maybe the thought of this being a loan deal could change these opinions though??

I dont see the harm in this but Newcastle would have to see some of the wages subbed by them. Smith isnt a bad player but I dont know where his best position is!

Smith would be a handy player to have, midfield is where he has obviously played the majority of his football but i do reckon he can still do a job for Rovers ( should he arrive ) up front....it is after all where he made his name at Leeds...and with Newcastle paying some of his wages then....why not?!?!?!

Hmm... I think I've already said my piece on Smith on a couple of occasions. Even halfing his wages by Rovers make him bad value for money (30k a week) in my eyes. One to leave me thinks.

But maybe Sam can get the best back out of him?
Mikey D
Did he get the best out of him at Newcastle? No. He did have injuries - but maybe too costly for us.

go and get alan smith.. he is the best that there is at present.. even if we have to pay the whole amount... did any one watched the newcastel's match against the irish team last week??? he was superve... back to his form in the leeds days... still has that passion for winning... he is someone who can lift the team spirit... for me get him at any cost... not in a loan deal but a permanent move if we can for 3 years atleast....
