Captain Nelsen : In Sam We Trust

Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen is very keen to learn who manager Sam Allardyce will sign to replace Roque Santa Cruz as well as looking forward to the new season with optimism.

Rovers (as we all know) will be on the lookout for a new goal machine and are actively searching for one.

Very importantly, Nelsen says the Rovers squad trust Allardyce's ability and nous so much that they have complete faith in his ability to guide the side to a great signing and a great season as well.

Nelsen, speaking to Sky Sports said - 'If Roque's funds become available we're probably looking for a big signing, obviously a striker,'

'You never know who could join. With Sam's reputation in the market it'll be interesting who he brings in.

'What the manager did last season, all the players have complete trust in him and who he's going to bring in and the system he sets out.

'We're just excited to get going.'

Maybe Ryan can teach the new striker a thing or two about finding the net after his awesome goal against Wigan?!

Ryan then swiftly moved on to talking about the up coming season which starts TONIGHT in pre-season with an away trip to Cambridge.

Ryan continued - 'Once Sam took over last season and with the horrid injuries we had, we still produced close to European form,'

'Now we're just got to replicate that over the whole season and see where that takes us.'

Good old Ryan, as committed as ever. It's a shame we don't have more players like this with unconditonal love for this club.

I think that Sam wants this striker search over as I think it is all we talk about at the moment but I suppose it is also a patience thing as well!
