Reidy And Dunny To Discuss Contracts

Blackburn Rovers are set to open contract talks with recovering midfielders Steven Reid and David Dunn in the near future.

The pair, who have one year remaining on exisiting deals - are both wanted by Big Sam but are in line for new talks.

This is good news for Steven, who has a bad injury record but is a huge influence when fit, however he may need to discuss reduced terms due to his injury problems.

Dunn, who is super keen to sign a new deal, will sit down with Rovers boss Sam Allardyce to extend his second stay at the Blue and White army.

Sam Allardyce is expecting that both players will be available for the start of the 2009/10 season, with both back in tentative training already.

John Williams, speaking to BBC radio Lancashire said - "David and Steven have both got a year left, so we`ll sit down and have a chat with them,"

That clears that up then.

I like both players but I only want them here if they will contribute and I am confident that Dunny will but 50/50 that Stevie can get up to full speed again.

These two are my favourite Rovers players, but surely they need to have pay as you play type contracts or clauses, especially in Reidy's case. I hope they both stay.
Wellsy
i wouldnt offer them anything until they prove their fitness id wait until at least xmas, i know its a gamble but they owe rovers for standing by them while they have been injured

I dont know about not offering them anything as I suspect both would find it fairly easy to find another club. We should just include a reduced pay clause into the contract should they get injured again.
durks de rover
