Save Of The Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2008-2009 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2008-2009 continue to be dished out with the SAVE OF THE SEASON (formerly known as Friedel's Save of the Season.)

THE WINNER: Paul Robinson v West Bromwich Albion.

When asked to simply leave the name of the opponent (and obviously who the save was from) that you felt saw a Rovers goalkeeper make the save of the season most felt that Robinson's save against West Brom should be the Award Winner! So congratulations to Robbo for making the save (one of many superb saves during 2008-2009) against the Baggies, and to them for playing their part.

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by clicking here.

I know this is hardly yonks a go but you will be hard pressed to see a better save from anyone all season.

Chris Brunt couldn't of hit it any better and the reflexes couldn't of been any faster!

glen9mullan said: "Robinsons umpteen saves against spurs at home."

adrianbrfc said: "Robinson at home to West Brom against Chris Brunt."

Blue n Whitey said: "I'm going for Robbo's save v West Brom, last game of the season, i think this could be the moment that may just secure his place back in the England line up, i hope! :)"

FreidelNo.1 said: "Yep agreed on the West Brom save."

JuanFranDeLaHuego said: "Even though it didn't matter, the West Brom save gets my vote too."

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for these other Awards, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!

Next to be dished out will be the Award for the INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON so keep voting!!! click here

He really did get better and better under Allardyce and long may this continue.

He certainly did didn't he dude, you can see the confidence (that had been drained from him) returning.
Walker
I concur, he was brilliant at the end of the season. Benni's goals and Robbo's saves were key to our top end of season home form. That save against WBA was top quality.
roversman
He had a good run in for sure. Let's hope he comes out flying next season too!
Money4midfield
Next season I expect him to reclaim his England spot - optimistic I know but he can do it.
