'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sam Says : Get Ready For Some New Signings!

Sam Allardyce feels now is the time to strike (no pun intended) and for the striker signing to be made.

Rovers have sold two strikers in Matt Derbyshire and Roque Santa 'Judas II' Cruz and have only got two recognised strikers left in the squad.

The need for fresh blood is clear - and Sam agrees.

The Big Man, speaking to Sky Sports said - 'We've got to now get in the position of signing new players. New players now are very, very important.

'We've sold what we need to sell. We've put the financial side of the club in the right position, where it needed to be.

'I think there is now some money available. Not everything that has been recouped which is obviously a shame for me, but something that the club had to do financially.

'We'll move from player to player until that money has been spent wisely as we can.

'The first priority is to try and bring in a striker, if not one probabley two. But that's depends on what's available, where we can go and what the cost is?

'If I feel it necessary to spend all the money on one particular striker then I'll do that. If not then I'll try and split it up a bit.'

So there you go - the game plan is set and I for one thin is the best approach without a doubt.

Go get em Big Man!!!

Good to see that we are going to get people in. We need to as the speculation is getting tedious and we are in a good financial position now - 1/2 strikers and 1 midfielder and prob a right back cover player and we are good to go me thinks.

I think 1 striker is enough - we know that McCarthy and Roberts can score goals together when they're given a run, and Gallacher is a useful back up, and could be better than that. I think we definitely need an out-and-out winger - Diouf and Pedersen are the poorest pair of wingers we've had at the club in all my time of watching Rovers, and if Sam's thinking of buying a big target man, he'll need someone to deliver the ball into the box.

I for one (not everyone will agree) that Gally as a fourth choice striker and a useful winger is a good (cheap) option as well.

One centre mid is priority for me, and probably 2 strikers. We need a tank in midfield (eg Huddlestone) and a little and large combo up front (eg Zigic/Janko/Crouch with Garcia). Obviously these are just the names that have been linked so far (except Huddlestone - is there only me that thinks he would be awesome for us?). I don't think we need bother about right back - emo has it and andrews/zurab can cover.
