Rovers To Miss Out On Crouch???

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is understood to be a fan of Peter Crouch but the chances of Crouch coming to Ewood Park appear to have vanished.

Speculation has grown that the England International would leave Portsmouth and this has seen speculation grow that Crouch could sign for Rovers (even more after Roque Santa Cruz FINALLY left), with Sunderland and Stoke City are understood to be interested. However, the striker's agent has said that Crouch isn't leaving Fratton Park.

Jonathan Barnett told the Portsmouth News: "There has been nothing from other clubs for Peter Crouch.

"He still has a contract with Portsmouth and he intends to be there next season. He has no intention of moving on.
"

Even if the 28-year-old did decide to leave Portsmouth having the money to bring Crouch to Ewood could've proven difficult given the budget that Allardyce has to work to.

Meanwhile former Rovers manager Paul Ince is being lined up for a return to management with Charlton Athletic.

Newspaper reports have linked Ince with the League One side (and to think not that long ago Charlton were in the Premier League!!!) if they decide that current manager Phil Parkinson isn't the man to carry on the job?

Crouch speculation was a non-starter. allardyce will finnd a 34-year- old European striker who wants a swansong... How about Fenrando Morientes, he may not be 34 but he's looking for a club and a last tilt at glory?

We get that you dont like Sam sindbad!!! get over it! lol... I cant see Crouch coming here - we are better off looking at a player like Benjani or Darren Bent.

Keep looking for the gems, they are somewhere out there....cheers

If you cant afford Crouch how the hell can you afford Darren Bent.

Crouch/Bent = English = too much money!! Both could do a job but too mush in wages possibly to justify a move.... there are loads of stikers out there, so no worries here...seeing as we have let 2 players go up front, im sure there are deals on the way.....
Clint
and Ince for Charlton..........God and he thought we had no money ha ha haaaaa ha....should be just about his level, though i feel bad for Charlton fans, hopefully he does a job for them and doesn't moan and bit*h about lack of funds again....
Clint
Yes Charlton are absolutely loaded.... lol. I dont know how much Benty costs Teddy lyon... I could be wrong but I thought about £10 million would do the job?
Mikey D
I would have thought that Bent would be in the region of £8million. He would want regular 1st team football, he has pace and can finish - world cup coming up, wants to be in it - he or crouch would be a good buy for us. However, I wouldn't break the bank for them. As for Ince, I wish him luck at Charlton, he can rebuild them, they've got a good support base, nice stadium - only trouble will be the money - hopefully he won't use that excuse again!

I will be seeing my local team Wycombe beat Charlton at the Valley again next season, it'll be even sweeter with Ince there after he near-destroyed Rovers this season!
