The Transfer Wrap

In this edition of the Transfer Wrap, we look at the high possibility of Rovers losing 2 front line strikers, with almost no replacement lined up.....or is there????

Transfers Out

Roque Santa Cruz- It looks like Mark Hughes is finally getting his man, with a medical on the cards for the Paraguay International. Whilst he is a top class striker, i'm sure, after his antics, not many Rovers Fans will be upset by his departure. 15 Mill Pounds, plus incentives, could we really complain???

Likelihood - ALmost a done deal aint it?

Matt Derbyshire- The forgotten man of Ewood Park, Olympiakos hero Matt Derbyshire, looks almost certain to make his Greek Adventure a permanent move. A loss to Rovers, but a gain the the Greeks. Looks like a 3 million pound deal, and a fair few incentives....

Likelihood- Very High

Zurab- The Monk has had enough, and wants first team action. It looks like he is off to Turkey, Galatasary are interested, and 2.5 mill looks to have done the trick

Likelihood- High

Keith Andrews- Portsmouth seem to have a fair bit of interest in Keith, whether Sam believes he needs to sell our second Mr Versatile is yet to be seen

Likelihood- Medium

Jason Brown- A solid Goal Keeper, but doesnt look like he will crack it at Blackburn. A few of the promoted teams are sniffing around, with 2.5 million pounds the asking price. WIth half a dozen youth goal keepers on the books, who really knows whats doing here....

Likelihood- Low to Medium

Chris Samba- Samba is reportedly creating heavy interest in Spain with his versatility. Valencia and Sevilla have reportedly had a look at the big man, however, Samba is a big factor in Sam Allardyces plan, and it will take a rather hefty bid to consider his sale

Likelihood- Low

Transfer Ins

Elrio Van Herdeen- 25 year old midfielder completed his free transfer from Belgian team, Club Brugge. He is reported to be a versatile midfielder, who specialises on the right flank, with lots of pace. The South African is currently in the national squad at the Confederations Cup.

Likelihood- Done Deal

Franco Di Santo- Bombom broke the news, the 19 year old Argentinian striker looks to be coming our way from Chelsea on a season long loan

Likelihood- High

Jerome Rothen- 31 year old right winger, curently plying his trade at PSG. An international winger who is looking for a new challenge, and whats to close his career of in England. Could this be a Big Sam Bargain....

Likelihood- Medium

Ivan De La Pena- 33 year old Espanyol midfielder. Extremely talented player, but reports are his wages just dont fit the cap.....

Likelihood- Low

Mohamad Zidan- Egyptian midfielder, currently at Borussia Dortmund. After a superb performance at the Confed cup against Brazil, his name has been mentioned with every club under the moon. Very good quality player, but 3 years left on the contract, not leaving too soon....

Likelihood- Low

Alan Smith- We all know who he is, the next big thing who never made it, currently with relegated Newcastle. Injuries have plagued his career, but if 1 man can rescue it, its big Sam...

Likelihood- Not sure, floats in and out of the press so who knows!!!

Thats the wrap for now.....

What happens if Roque Santa Cruz fails his medical, guys? Would any of you Rovers be happy to see him stay? Allardyce doesn't seem to like him at all after all those South American TV, Radio and Press articles. I'm warming to the idea of him joining Man City -- but only if he is fit.
Sindbad
